Dead Sea salt has properties that make it unique. Extracted from a highly saline lake located between Israel and Jordan, which is also the lowest point on earth, this salt is the richest natural source of minerals in the world. Consider that a normal concentration of sea salt contains only sodium chloride (mostly), calcium, and magnesium, while Dead Sea salt contains magnesium in higher quantities, potassium and bromine in very significant quantities, and many other trace elements.
There are numerous studies that attest to its beneficial properties on the skin and the entire body.
This extraordinary composition makes this salt a panacea for the skin, hydrating it, strengthening its natural immune barrier, activating blood circulation, and stimulating lymphatic function. The scrubbing effect purifies the skin's pores, and has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, regenerating, and soothing effects.
Trace elements such as magnesium and potassium also have an anti-inflammatory effect on muscles and rheumatic joint conditions. Trace elements penetrate the skin thanks to their very small size, reaching the bloodstream within minutes, and therefore every cell in our body, exactly as happens with the molecules of essential oils .
After receiving this massage, you may feel the need to drink more. This is an excellent reaction from the body, which has received a lot of salts through osmosis and therefore needs to be rehydrated: let's go with it!
This massage is best performed with coconut oil, without a towel. It's ideal during the warmer months, from late spring to early autumn.
NB: While particularly effective for soothing inflammatory conditions such as dermatitis and psoriasis, this massage is not recommended for those with broken skin, as the salt may irritate them. In these cases, we recommend taking advantage of the beneficial properties of Dead Sea salt through baths or mud applications. In any case, we recommend showering after the massage, once you return home and after the salt has had time to penetrate the tissues.
